You can enjoy these recipes at any time, but, of course, they’re designed to make your detox effective and delicious. Before you begin, please bear in mind that detox food looks different for everyone.
This is because your body is accustomed to your current lifestyle. And what you give it could be hamburgers and fries, or green juice and healthy acai bowls! So start from where you are, and give your body food and beverages that are cleaner than you would normally consume. This allows you to scale up or scale down your detox as you go, and you monitor your symptoms.
Here are some of the symptoms to look out for:
Fatigue
Irritability and moodiness
Body aches and pains
Cravings and withdrawal
Nausea Diarrhea Flu and cold-type symptoms
Bad breath
Gas
Headaches
Skin issues such as pimples
Yes! While we want to promote detoxification, we don’t want these symptoms to become overwhelming. It’s better to gently detox and stay the course than detox heavily and give up because it becomes challenging.
To decrease the intensity of the detox, consume more fat and less green/nutrient-rich foods and drinks. Eat more solid food.
To increase, simply do the opposite: consume more liquid foods like smoothies and juices, and highly nutrient-rich choices, like superfoods and green vegetables.
Bearing that in mind, here are some recipes you might like to try:
Salads (Try to eat a big salad at least once per day during your detox)
Smoothies, Juices & Detox Waters
Blueberry Coconut Chia Smoothies (without Greek yogurt and with a healthy sweetener)
